Last week, our teams from Mac Mic Group's London, Bristol and Glasgow offices gathered at our headquarters for our first Annual Business Briefing.
The atmosphere was energised with Directors Andrew Mickel and Ross Mickel welcoming everyone before Group CEO, Paul McAninch, gave an insightful review of the previous year and outlined the Group’s aspirations for F24.
This was followed by updates from each of our four divisions- Strategic Land (Conor Roberts for South East England, Tom Harris for South West England and Bruce Hampton for Scotland), Private Rental Sector (Craig Ormond), Investments and Developments (Brian Dick). Our Company Secretary and Financial Controller, Nichola McKelvie, then delivered a financial overview.
During the event, we also unveiled plans for our new Mac Mic Foundation. This foundation is part of our long-standing strategy for giving back to the community and will be launched in the coming weeks.
As part of the event, we marked the retirement of Alan Hartley, who recently stepped down from his position as Group Chairman after holding the post for 6 years. Alan, a chartered accountant by profession, motorbike enthusiast and qualified pilot in both UK and USA, joined the board as a non-executive director in 2004. David Shaw, also a keen biker, who joined the Group as a non-executive director in 2017, has taken up the reins as Mac Mic Group Chairman.
The celebratory lunch that followed, we presented long-service awards, ranging from 10 to 20 years to five of our team members : Paul McAninch (20 years), Ken Hopkins (15 years) and Claire McCue, Liam Campbell and Marianne O’Pray, who each celebrated 10 years’ service.
To cap off the day’s celebrations we were proud to see Nick Rennie (Strategic Land Manager South East), receive the prestigious Derek Mickel Award for his outstanding achievements. The awards were presented by Directors, Andrew Mickel and Ross Mickel.
The day was a resounding success, bringing our diverse team together and highlighting the importance of collaboration and recognition.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to Alan Hartley once again for his dedication to the Group and wish him a happy and fulfilling retirement.
