Mac Mic Group’s Strategic Land South West team has entered an agreement to promote a 55-acre site near Witney that could deliver up to 500 new homes.
Currently held in private ownership, the agricultural land is sustainably located and well placed to deliver much needed residential development. Situated in one of the three main settlements in West Oxfordshire, Witney has been identified to support the strategic growth needs of the local authority.
The site, which is well positioned with the amenities and facilities nearby, will be promoted by Mac Mic Group for residential / mixed use though the West Oxfordshire local plan process. The landscape and sustainable transport-led development proposal, will enable the organic growth of Witney, creating a logical extension of the settlement.
Tom Harris, Senior Strategic Land Manager South West, at Mactaggart & Mickel Group said: “We have an extensive history as a land promoter and investor, with a reputation built on both community engagement and placemaking. With all our planning applications we commit to an extensive stakeholder engagement programme.
“Our priority is to understand what local people need from a new neighbourhood, so that we can shape a proposal that delivers maximum benefit to the community in terms of new homes and facilities. Our aim is to create a sense of place that local people can be proud of.
“We would like to thank the agents Julian Harbottle and Sarah Fenton of Savills, and the landowners Matthew Walker and Lucy Harley for their support throughout, ensuring the site could be brought forward for promotion.
