Mactaggart & Mickel’s South East England Strategic Land team has exchanged contracts to promote a 95-acre site within the Borough of Colchester.
The deal will see the team promote the greenfield site on behalf of the landowners through the Colchester Borough Council Local Plan, with an extensive programme of stakeholder engagement and community consultation.
Offering excellent connections to the A12 and Colchester station, the site has the potential to deliver much needed new homes and community benefits to the area over the next 5 – 10 years.
The site, which is currently in use as low grade agricultural land, also represents an opportunity to create a biodiversity net gain, enhancing the local landscape and character.
Nicholas Rennie, Strategic Land Manager South East, commented: “This is an exciting deal for the team that further increases Mactaggart & Mickel’s presence in the South East.
“This large and strategically located site has the potential to deliver a scheme that will bring multiple benefits to the community, including new homes to meet local demand.
“I’d like to thank my colleagues involved in helping to exchange contracts with special thanks to Nick Harper of Hawkspur, who represented the landowners, and Lisa Renwick of Shepherd & Wedderburn, who acted for us on the legal matters.”
